In November of 2019 Ascension Parish detached single-family homes saw an average sales price of $246,613. This is a decrease of 8.1% from October of 2018. Sellers had their homes on the market for 60 days. They walked away with 98.55% of their asking price vs 98.57 last year. Rural homes (not in subdivisions) and Lakeside Terrace were the hot areas.
East Baton Rouge Parish Market Stats
In November of 2019, Baton Rouge Real Estate saw an average sales price of $248,063 with their detached single-family homes. This is a decrease of 3.6% from October of 2018. Wow! The market in East Baton Rouge has been undoubtedly interesting to follow the past few months. Sellers were able to walk away with 97.7% of their sales price when last year they only received 97%. Hunters Trace and University Villas were the hot spots.

Looks like new construction is winning again in both Ascension and East Baton Rouge Parishes. We are rolling into the holidays and definitely seeing the seasonal slowdown. There are still great homes on the market to choose from for those that need to find something right away.
