Ascension Parish is ready for the 2022 Christmas Season!
The residents of Ascension Parish have quite the spirit when it comes to Christmas. check out some of our favorite events you can attend in 2022.

Start the season off at the City Of Gonzales Tree Lighting event. Come to City Hall on Irma Blvd in Gonzales and celebrate the Christmas tree's lighting. Afterward, Santa and his elves will be at the civic center with gifts for the little ones and jambalaya to fill your tummy. - Dec 10, 2022 5:30pm
One of the most fun, family-friendly events is the Volunteer Ascension Movie Night. Put on your warm jammies, grab a blanket and come out to Jambalaya Park Amphitheater and enjoy the viewing of Santa Clause 3. Also, enjoy concessions, face painting, balloon art, and free pictures with Santa. If we are lucky, it will be chilly, and you will be in full Christmas Spirit by the end of the evening! - Dec 11, 2022 1pm
Everyone loves a Christmas parade! The Gonzales Christmas parade is a long-standing tradition with lots of floats, marching bands, and dance groups. Just remember, the route has changed, and when they meet up with Burnside, the parade will turn left and head toward Hwy 30. Be sure to bring a bag to hold all of the goodies you will catch at this wonderful event.
When it comes to Christmas Lights, the residents of Ascension Parish are LIT! (See what I did there?)
- Old Dutchtown Subdivision is full of Christmas Spirit. Some of the homes have the lights synced to music and most of the homes are decked out.
- Oak Alley Subdivision in Geismar has many homes decked with dazzling lights.
- Fields Ct off of Hwy 44 in Prairieville has a home that is synched to music and fun to watch.
- Take a drive along Bluff Road and dip into the various subdivisions. Most of them are full of Christmas Spirt and decked out for the holidays.
